As Prime Professional for your engineering projects, EMA
services include the following:
- Team approach and attitude (e.g. Owner, Engineer, Contractors).
- Initial meeting and on-site reviews with Owner to obtain
scope of work, budgets. Obtain any specific Owner
requirements. Meet with owner’s maintenance and facility
personnel.
- Design plans, specifications, construction documents. Conduct
coordination/review meeting with district personnel.
- Complete final plans, specifications, bidding documents.
- Conduct pre-bid meeting on-site.
- Answer questions during bidding process.
- Attend bid opening, if requested.
- Assist in evaluating bids and bidders. Provide written
recommendation.
- Assist Owner in preparing Agreement between Owner and
Contractor.
- Conduct pre-construction meeting (Owner, Contractor,
Subcontractors, Engineer, Major Suppliers as needed).
- Review submittals from Contractor. Coordinate
significant items with Owner.
- Schedule and attend periodic on-site construction meetings
(Contractor, Engineer, Owner, Subcontractors).
- Conduct periodic on-site observations as construction
progresses.
- Review and approve contractor progress payments.
- Conduct substantial completion and final completion observations.
- Review contractor’s final submittals
These EMA Prime Professional services, for example, have
been successful for replacement of HVAC systems for 25 campuses
in phased multi-year, prioritized summer projects, district-wide
phased fire alarm replacements, and district-wide lighting
upgrades to reduce energy cost and improve the learning environment. District-wide,
